Current Requirements for Person

To work on a substation or overhead line, contractors are required to have undertaken a general Health and Safety awareness training course.

Examples of suitable courses:

  • SHEA Level 1 - EUS
  • EUS level 1 General Health & Safety Module
  • Working Safely Course
  • Construction Skills Certificate Scheme - CSCS card
  • Construction Industry Training Board - CITB card
  • Institute of Occupational Safety & Health - IOSH card
  • British Safety Council - BSC card

The next step is to book a Person training and assessment course. This can only be done at a National Grid Training Centre, and is normally booked on line. National Grid Electricity Contractors Scheme Overview

Pre course reading:

The first time you do the Person course must be be at Eakering. Following three yearly refreshers can then be done on line.
